Mr. Vello Kuuskraa, President and Chairman of the Board of Advanced Resources, has over 40 years of experience with oil and natural gas resource assessments and application of advanced extraction technologies. He leads the firm's market studies addressing the outlook for North American and international oil and gas development, is the co-author of the "World Shale Gas and Oil Study" (sponsored by the U.S. Energy Information Administration), and is the author of over 100 technical papers on energy resources and technology.

More recently, Mr. Kuuskraa has led studies evaluating CO2 storage options in numerous U.S. and international basins. He was the 2007/2008 SPE Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of Integrating Enhanced Oil Recovery and CO2 Sequestration following his original lecturer series on enhanced oil recovery. He has worked with numerous firms and countries examining how to coordinate the productive use and storage of CO2 with enhanced oil recovery. He served as the Chairman of the Advisory Board for Carbon Capture Project, a major industry/government partnership involving BP, Chevron, and Shell, among others, working on advanced CO2 capture and storage technologies.

Mr. Kuuskraa is a 2001 recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which recognizes individuals for exceptional professional and patriotic contributions by America's diverse cultural ancestry. He currently serves on the National Petroleum Council. He is retired from the University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council and from the Board of Directors of Southwestern Energy Company (SWN). He holds an M.B.A., Highest Distinction, from The Wharton Graduate School and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from North Carolina State University.
