Practice Area:
Geologic Storage
of CO2 & Other Gases
Our firm helps the energy industry understand and manage key elements of the subsurface energy system, from shale and tight gas to carbon dioxide storage. Advanced Resources International's (ARI) expertise supports effective planning for carbon management and gas-related projects, providing technical analysis and consulting on hydrogen and other gas resource development and storage to optimize performance and environmental outcomes.
Advanced Resources combines expertise across multiple disciplines to help our clients assess, design and implement safe, secure gas storage solutions for carbon dioxide, natural gas, and other gases.
Beginning with R&D on the testing of new and novel fracture-stimulation technologies in natural gas storage fields across the U.S. in the 1990s, work over the last three decades has expanded our services to meet the needs of our clients in the burgeoning field of CO₂ storage. We are a global leader in the field, building on our work at the forefront of regional, national and global initiatives to advance and commercialize CO₂ utilization and storage.
We provide services at all phases of development for gas storage projects, from initial site screening to project abandonment.

ARI Technical Experts
Andrew Duguid

Dr. Andrew Duguid specializes in leading commercial CO₂ project development in complex subsurface settings. He has 20 years of project permitting, characterization, and development experience. Dr. Duguid has numerous papers on wellbore integrity and CO₂ leakage risks. He has been acting as an expert and leader with the International Standards Organization to develop CO₂ storage standards since 2013.
Dave Riestenberg

For over 20 years, Dave Riestenberg has led geologic storage projects from screening through the permitting phases. He has overseen drilling of over 20 deep monitoring and injection wells and led two CO₂ storage field demonstrations. Dave oversees a team of geoscientists with expertise in petrophysics, geomechanics and modeling.
Manoj K. Valluri

Manoj Valluri has over a decade of experience with designing, permitting, and developing commercial and federal geologic storage projects. He specializes in reservoir engineering aspects of geologic storage, project development, and value stream creation. He is a member of the International Standards Organization Technical Committee 265 on Geologic Storage.
