US EIA/ARI World Shale Gas and Shale Oil Resource Assessment

US EIA/ARI World Shale Gas and Shale Oil Resource Assessment

Technically Recoverable Shale Gas and Shale Oil Resources: An Assessment of 137 Shale Formations in 41 Countries Outside the United States

For the US DOE/Energy Information Administration, Advanced Resources produced the "World Shale Gas and Shale Oil Resource Assessment" report. This study represents a major shale resource assessment effort that includes:

  • 41 distinct countries (42 with U.S.).
  • 95 individual shale basins with 137 individual shale gas and shale oil formations.
  • ~200 original maps, identifying prospective geologic settings, reservoir properties and resource concentrations.
