CMM Feasibility Study
Shanxi, China

Advanced Resources works closely with mine operators, project developers and others to improve measurement of methane emissions from mining, assess existing gas management plans and the feasibility of improvements at mines around the globe.

An example is the Tenghui Coal Mine in Shanxi Province, China. Working closely with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the China International Centre of Excellence on Coal Mine Methane (CMM) in a pre-feasibility study, ARI identified opportunities for improving gas drainage through state-of-the-art long-hole directional drilling.

Implementation of the proposal improved gas quality and quantity allowing gas to be used onsite to fuel 4MW of power generation, reducing the greenhouse gas intensity of the mine and improving mine safety.
