Advanced Resources (and our predecessor companies) have a rich history in the gas shales industry. ARI staff were among the first researchers sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy to study the Appalachian basin Ohio shale in the 1970’s. ARI was also a lead contractor for the Gas Research Institute’s (GRI, predecessor to the Gas Technology Institute) gas shale program in the Michigan basin Antrim shale. During the 1990’s ARI added a triple-porosity/dual-permeability capability to the COMET3 reservoir simulator specifically to address some of the unique complexities posed by gas shales reservoirs. Today, ARI actively provides commercial consulting services in most U.S. gas shale basins, and is at the forefront of international gas shale development in a number of countries.
A listing of selected gas shales publications, papers and reports is provided in the Literature page under the following sections.
