Advanced Resources was an early entrant into the carbon sequestration (CO2 sequestration) arena, beginning with global sequestration capacity assessments in oil and gas reservoirs and coal seams for the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme in the mid-1990’s. Since then, ARI has become a leading provider of technical and consulting services regarding geologic carbon sequestration for both R&D and commercial projects.

Some of ARI’s public projects in this regard include:

• Providing technical and strategic advice to the industry consortium CO2 Capture Project
• Lading the government-industry sponsored Coal-Seq II Consortium which is studying carbon sequestration in deep, unmineable coal seams
• Managing a carbon sequestration demonstration in a deep, saline reservoir in Mississippi for the Southeast Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership
• Managing a carbon sequestration demonstration in San Juan basin coal seams for the Southwest Regional Partnership for Carbon Sequestration
• Investigating the feasibility of using methanogens to sequester CO2 and generate in-situ methane in coal seams.

ARI also provides carbon sequestration consulting services to companies seeking to reduce their current or future greenhouse gas footprint.
