Our History
The company known today as Advanced Resources International began in 1970 as an energy consulting practice with Lewin and Associates under the management of Vello Kuuskraa, our current president. After achieving widespread recognition for its success consulting on heavy oil reservoirs, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), tight sands and coalbed methane (CBM), Lewin and Associates was acquired by ICF/Kaiser-Engineers in 1987 to provide comprehensive energy supply chain consulting services. In 1991, Vello Kuuskraa and a core group of experts undertook a management buyout of the upstream portion of the practice to refocus on our core interests in oil and gas technology and consulting, thus forming Advanced Resources International.
